about

A previously unreleased track.
There was once a children's TV series in the mid 1970s, that was filmed in
Heydon, the village next to where I was raised. The series (based on the novel by Nina Bawden) was set in late 1800s, and the location of Heydon was a perfect choice as its facade had changed very little since those times. As a youngster I found Heydon frightening, although it was only a couple of miles away. It seemed remote, out of time and eerily still and quiet. My village surrounded by three churches, and the flat rural topography of Norfolk meant the spires of the churches dominated the skyline, forming in my mind an (imaginary) triangular force field. It was the dark days of the 1970s, it felt best not to let ones imagination run too wild.
