about

One of the most striking images in the whole of the BBC TV adaptation of 'The Box of Delights' is the deep, deep snow over the fields and in the forests (through the trees). Such perfect un-trodden snow - of the type we vary rarely see in this country.
One of the major underlying themes in the story is one of greed, and more than that greed without bounds, greed at all cost and greed without conscience. The baddies in the story are completely driven by greed and power it almost like an overwhelming blood-lust, that it puts me in mind of the horrendous tradition of fox hunting.

lyrics

I can only see the trees rushing through their lines in scenes.
Now the war is over so must grow the thyme.
Cast aside it looked just like roses in the snow.
Trail behind rivers to find to sign the cruelest blow.

My blood it stiffens with the cold.
Snow as fleet as times of old.
Bitten deep so deep inside.
Left alone in the wintertide.

The north wind it blows so cold.
Cuts so cruel in half you'll fold.
Ice in their veins as they ride.
Hunted down for the crimes of the wintertide.

O' come ye here before the eve the secrets of the scents revealed.
Hung all along the chase so not to be denied.
Bells tied fast onto the tail a guarantee no chance to fail.
Tripped up, beaten, and dragged along, like a ruby in the snow.
