There are a lot of themes that The Box of Delights explores. In common with many children's stories the power of the imagination and the ability to transform is a recurring theme.
In the story we witness the Boxes ability to shrink the holder of the box, and also to give them the power of flight.
What could be more beautiful than flying above the forests and fields covered with the deepest untrodden-snow?
