This is a remastered version of the free giveaway single originally released in May 2016.
Processions (variously costumed), are a staple of the folk horror genre. My own particular favourite is the procession that heads off to the cliffs in The Wicker Man ("MacGregor, cut some capers, man!"). These processions captured in film and in book, seem to play upon the fear of the pack mentality, of group mind-control and of ritual.
In my own mind whilst writing this song, I had the idea of a bunch of ordinary folk, desperately grasping, hoping to find some kind of super-natural force or magic to get back them to their previously settled lives during the maelstrom of chaos of the English Civil War. Actually it is very 2020!
