about

A psychedelic song inspired by 'The Spoiling of the Soil' the third part of the British Ligoncuss portmanteau folk horror film 'Spirits, Runes and the Soil'.

lyrics

She said that we'd meet at the house with no name.
Just past the bakers in Crimson Tie Lane.
She said she'd be late after she had arrived.
I lit my pipe and we started to fly.

We walked through the rough grass as Summer began.
To dig the scent on her favourite kaftan.
With the echo of bells ringing out evensong.
Just a smile and a whisper and I now belong.

All alone and at one with the sky.
Floating so heavy through the needles eye.
Cinnamon pastures wherever we go.
Now we don't care for what we'll never know.

Drifting so slowly on the Serpentine.
Marmalade rivers that mellows the mind.
The sun shines intensely inside an old spoon.
There is no reason for leaving here soon.

We did sleep for a year and a day.
Rustic bucolics asleep in the hay.
Horses ate only the clouds in the sky.
'Neath the merry go, merry go, merry go round.
That they longed to ride.

Once there were fields and crinoline tides.
replaced with brocade running mile after mile.
At least we were happy to us we were true.
Another scene beckoned we jumped as you drew.

Raindrops will wash your dreams all away.
Save them all up for a sunnier day.
Over the rooftops we see the crows fly.
As down on the streets the light starts to die.

And we come alive.
